OCTOBER 26, 2025 — Vern Cramer Saxe explores the history and development of Coolbaugh Township's educational institutions, highlighting their impact on the community.

TOBYHANNA MILITARY RESERVATION

SEPTEMBER 14, 2025 — The Army first came to Tobyhanna in 1912, and they have been here ever since. This presentation by Bill Leonard covers the multiple uses of the reservation, including artillery training, high explosives storage, prisoner-of-war camp, glider storage, signal depot, and the Tobyhanna Army Depot today.

AIRPORT INN & HORSE SHOW

JULY 27, 2025 — Suzanne McCool presentation about the Airport Inn and the once widely acclaimed horse show in what is now Mount Pocono.

THE SEVEN MYSTERIES OF DEVIL’S HOLE

JUNE 1, 2025 — This presentation by Bill Leonard is entitled “Seven Mysteries of Devil’s Hole - Folklore, Tales, and Legends.”

The Devil’s Hole, partially located in Coolbaugh Township, is shrouded in mystery and mystique. There are several building ruins along Devil’s Hole Creek, exciting waterfalls, stories about an Elk Farm, peculiar artifacts, and a significant impact from the 1955 flood.

THE RAILROAD HISTORY OF COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP

OCTOBER 15, 2022 — The history of the railroads in Coolbaugh Township from the mid 1800s to the present, presented by Kim Williams for the Coolbaugh Township Historical Association Annual Dinner Program in 2022. The program touches on many local railroad bases, from Paradise and Township townships to Wayne and Lackawanna counties.
