There are several building ruins along Devils Hole Creek, exciting water falls, stories about an Elk Farm, peculiar artifacts, and a significant impact from the 1955 flood.

‘COLD GOLD’

MAY 15, 2022 — PDF of a Kim Williams program pertaining to the lucrative ice-harvesting business that prospered year-round in the Poconos in the early 1900s. Not only were smaller quantities of ice from local ponds used as a preservative, but tons of ice were hauled 100 miles or more in railroad cars that accessed at least 19 lakes between Saylorsburg and Gouldsboro.
